St George's School, Colchester

It is our expectation that pupils attend school at least 95% of the time. With the exception of a small number of children, this is a reasonable expectations for almost all of the students at the school.

The School Attendance (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations 2024 legislation, which introduced a National Framework in England, has been introduced. By law all children of compulsory school age must receive an appropriate full-time education (Education Act 1996).  Parents have a legal duty to ensure their child attends school regularly at the school at which they are registered.

Below is our policy for attendance at the school, and a copy of the leave of absence application form. Please be aware that authority for absence is only given in exceptional circumstances.
